The video gives a glimpse of what it took to make a flat space on the middle part of the property, that eventually, we will build a retreat cabin on. Dave also used the excavator to clear space at the bottom of the property for a dwelling.
The picture below is the beginning of him working on clearing that spot. It is moist and cool, and there is a tiny creek nearby. There is a trail system that starts from the far right corner by the two closet trees in the picture, that winds up to our forest farming garden in a beautiful wide open space.
The trail system winds up to the ridge line and goes up it to where the second cabin will be and then circles around back down to the glade. There are many nice spots to stop and sit along the way under the canopy to sit, breathe deep, relax, and meditate.
